Next Year

books are in

although i have no time to read them yet

I recommend watching both of these, if you have time. Not going to lie, they're both 20 minutes. But he is such a good speaker and entertainer, and I think those 40 minutes were the best spent of my day.

Day[9]'s Musings - Emotions as Kittens and Ninja Stars

It's a metaphor. An analogical metaphor, or a metaphoric analogy. one of those things.

I think I'm a 10/20 kittens 10/20 ninja stars person, even if sometimes I seem like a 19/20 ninja stars person. Maybe I used to be, but I should be 10/10 now.

"Never ignore the kittens; savour every kitten that comes unto your life, be ready for every miracle that could possibly happen in the day"

so true

Day[9]'s Musings - Being Relentlessly Positive

I recommend the other one more than this one, but he talks about Cambria for a bit in this one which is always nice.

hey, I like this guy. Day9 is quite a cool guy in my opinion, and it's a shame that I don't know much about starcraft since this guy has quite good commentary and outlook.

except I don't really like this analogy, the ideas are right except kittens and ninja stars aren't really... I dunno, I don't see how emotions are just static... stuff that happens to you every now and then.

I don't think all happy emotions are good, and I don't think all sad emotions are bad. I don't think it's a pet all the kittens and dodge all the ninja stars kind of mentality which makes us ultimately happy. Sometimes I like taking a ninja star for someone else by jumping in front of them yelling "NOOOO!" And I don't think polarising emotions into two things is a really effective way to look at optimism. I don't really think you need to explain it and rationalise it like day9 has I think the best thing to do is just walk forward and experience everything there is to experience.

That probably didn't make any sense and whoa, long comment, sorry!

also when he said super saiyan caster I actually laughed for like 30 seconds for some reason

(Thanks, Harvard)
