I'm going to be using stereotypes to put forward a point, i'm aware it goes deeper than this.
Anyway this morning I was thinking that earth is pretty bad, both in first and third world perspectives.
I was thinking that for some religions, you're here on earth, and if you're good, you go to heaven, and if you're bad, you go to hell.
I was thinking that for some other religions, you're here on earth, and if you're good, you go to nirvana, and if you're relatively bad, you're reincarnated on earth.
and the only way for both of those ideas to be true, is if earth is "hell". just philosophy, theorycrafting, food for thought. nothing more.
and i think it would be great, even if you don't, if someone proved that all the religions are actually the same religion, except things are named differently and interpretted differently. not going to happen, but if it would, there wouldn't be so much pointless debate. haha just kidding, opinionated atheists.
the problem with schools like ours is that people think it matters whether others are correct or incorrect. there is no subjective correct or incorrect. openly arguing and getting all righteous over things like these is even worse than people trying to convert you.
there just needs to be mutual respect and understanding

and this my friend is why we're still here... still bickering over our petty differences, still human. needing a high power to brood over our series of innane squabbles each edging us closer to what we fear the most... the unknown.
Let's all be friends
Religion is a fickle issue. Sometimes it makes me annoyed that since atheists don't believe in religion they see themselves as above religion. But then again, atheism is a stance upon a higher being, and therefore also a religion.
But Christians don't like calling it a religion, rather calling it a relationship. Sometimes they try to put themselves above the term religion as well. But it's still a religion.
Over my years I have come to understand the pros and cons of many religions. Atheists can live carefree, Buddhists are rational and selfless, Muslims are devoted and loyal, Jewish people are wise and Christians are friendly.
Then I realised that by rationalising that each religion is nice in its own way I was trying to be above religions, which I just said was bad.
Hence, religion is a fickle issue.
do you think i'm crazy?
Doesn't help that when I listen to something religious, it makes my irritated/stressed mood even worse.
