Miracle

gradelove makes me sad sometimes

sometimes it only takes a small thing to make me think negative and then everything is negative and I feel like I've drunk from a chalice poison. I lost 2 hours of sleep like that.

but don't worry things are okay. I'm just

tired

of so many things

***********************
Good afternoon everyone. Brace yourselves for the deepest and most philosophical speech you will ever hear in the next five minutes. Now, I may say things which clash with your personal beliefs, so in advance, I would just like to say that I respect the individual opinions of each and every one of you, and I hope you respect mine.

But first, the orb spider; she who would so delicately “truss up” small insects. Aw, how beautiful. No, that’s not my quote. My quote is “I watched her work, produce her known world”. Her known world. Well, aside from trussing up small insects and ... spinning webs, I would say that the known world of an orb spider is fairly insignificant compared to ours. But that raises the question: What about us? What is mankind’s known world?

Over the relatively short time humans have lived on Earth, we have proven to be the most intelligent of all creatures. Our ancestors, the cave men, did not have claws, wings, or other physical features to match bears and other animals. Instead they used what no other creature had used effectively. Their brains! They were able to discover fire, use a bow and arrow. They tamed the land through agriculture and settled into tribes, nations, and civilisations. Over time they built wonders such as Stonehenge and The Pyramids. They discovered the wheel, sailed the seas, and navigated the skies. In short, they have become us. And we have mastered the Earth on which we live, and begun on space.

But even though our human race has learned, understood, and achieved so much over our time on Earth, there is still one thing, one question which has been asked since the dawn of mankind, but never known. What happens after death? What is the meaning of life?

Well, according to Macquarie Budget Dictionary, life is “the condition which distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic objects and dead organisms. According to Wikipedia, “Life is a 1999 comedy-drama film directed by Ted Demme, and starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Laurence”. And another source has calculated life to be 42.

But, the 2 mainly accepted explanations for life are Religion and Science. Creationism and evolution. Naturally, there has been and still is conflict between the two, because religious leaders are going to say “God created the world because we say so” and then scientists will say “no he didn’t because you can’t scientifically prove it” and then the priests and going to be like “yes He did” and the scientists “no he didn’t”, “yes He did”, “no he didn’t”, “yes He did”, “no he didn’t”, etc. etc. etc.

Now you may take one side or the other, but if you think anything like me, you won’t take either, but stand on the metaphorical sideline and watch. And you will realise that both sides will never reach an agreement, simply because they think differently. Faith or scientific explanation. There haven’t been any attempts to resolve the conflicts, to somehow combine the two theories. Instead, religious arguments have always been futile, with each side saying “I’m right”. And to this day, they still are.

Now, as students of the most popular school in the state, I’m sure we are all aware of Stephen Hawking, the wheelchair bound scientist who can’t talk but has to use a voice synthesiser. But did you know that, last week, on the 7th of September he published a book called “The Grand Design”? Well, you know now. This book examines the history of scientific knowledge, about the universe. It also describes quantum mechanics and all of that, but the perhaps the biggest thing Hawking writes in his book is:

“Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist. It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going.”

Wow. When I read that, I thought two things. The first was “my head hurts”.
The universe creates itself from nothing? How does that work? Doesn’t that defy the law of conservation of matter and energy? Yes it does. And even if we ignore the fact that it defies a proven law, where did the law of gravity come from? All laws come from the universe itself, but then the universe comes from these laws? It’s like the chicken and the egg paradox all over again. But I guess it doesn’t matter whether it makes sense or not because he’s a famous scientist, and everything he says must be right.

And the second thought I thought was “my head still hurts”, because it still didn’t make perfect sense to me, BUT maybe he is right or at least on the right track. After all, Galileo was forced to spend part of his life under house arrest for believing the sun was the centre of the solar system. And he was right. Charles Darwin, as we all learned in science, was condemned for his views about evolution and natural selection. And he was right. So is this any different? Maybe, there is some truth in Stephen Hawking’s claims. But right now, we can’t know for sure whether he is right or wrong. The only thing we can be sure about is that there is going to be much disagreement and debate over his views.

In time, mankind may have knowledge of the universe and beyond, but I believe that as a race we will never know the exact origins of life, the universe, and everything; as much as we try to. And it is better that we don’t.

deleet12,

Good morning.

I'm with T1 Recordings, you can check our Youtube page for more info, or check www.trackonerecordings.com.

I'm doing promotion for our music on Youtube -- I'm finding Youtube users who have videos which get a lot of views, and offering to pay them a small fee for using our music on their videos.

So this is why I am writing to you: I want to ask if I can PAY you to use our music on your channel, via the 'Audioswap' feature.

I can officially say that I could pay you a one-time payment of $50 (fifty US dollars) to use our music on your "DotA 6.68b Eredar, Shadow Demon" video using 'Audioswap'.

Please take your time to consider, and if you might be interested, please simply respond to this message, and we will work out the details.

And if you have stuff to ask about this, no problem, just respond to this message.

Much thanks, and I appreciate you reading this.

Greets,

Track One Recordings

PS -- I'd like to use Paypal to pay you, however, depending on your location another method could work well -- usually Western Union is also easy.

PS -- If you're not 100% sure how 'Audioswap' works, please watch attached video -- it's very simple ;) -- also, you can read the official documentation here: http://www.Youtube.com/audioswap_main -- or simply search for "Audioswap" at www.google.com

it sounds a bit informal but I think I'll ask my parents and then they'll be like wtf you have youtube why do you have youtube?

Wow. Nice speech, nice job getting the offer from that place.

I don't believe he literally means "Something from nothing". It's just an arrangement of parts which makes a whole; more than just a sum of it's parts. Kinda like how you can rearrange the length of the sides of a quadrilateral and end up with different areas.

I was doing my science assignment and saw "Do not loan your assignment to anyone else" and I took down my speech, just in case.

Also, I'm not a big fan of Euro music but free money is always good.

When I read the first part of the speech and read the part about Galileo and Darwin being right the first thing I think is "so your point is Darwin and Galileo could be wrong"

This looks way too high-level to be a scam/trap

Awesome speech you got there (y)
