sunset above the clouds

I look through the aeroplane window
to see the world above the clouds.
Orange hills and valleys and rivers,
spires of white, deep holes of blue,
under the violet horizon.
Under the fiery sun.
The magnificence gives me the shivers.

And I am the only one in the world
that will ever behold this sight.
The rest of the world is lost below.
The rest of the plane is lost in sleep;
dazed and exhausted from height.

This is mine alone.

Have a good one, Jason!
